Zaragoza Digital Water Pavilion

Once you get past the intro you get to the images - like the concept dunno if it can actually be done tho- it's all software interacting with valves summat's bound to break somewhere...

Realtime statistics on all sorts of things - as I write this the amount of water consumed by people all over the world is coming up for 5 million billion litres - that's so much I don't even know if I've said it right :S

G Spirits

One for the boys this on boxing day - whiskey meets woman..

Amina Malakona - that's not how to drink whiskey...

"A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language."

Last Words..

Sometimes we know when it's gonna happen, sometimes it just happens with no warning.

"Sooner rather than later, the great avenues will open again and free men will walk through them to construct a better society. Long live Chile! Long live the people! Long live the workers! These are my last words, and I am certain that my sacrifice will not be in vain, I am certain that, at the very least, it will be a moral lesson that will punish felony, cowardice, and treason.
    • Who: Salvador Allende, d. September 3, 1973
      • Note: Last speech given before he committed suicide before the military forces entered the La Moneda palace when the 1973 coup d'etat took place."

God Is Imaginary...

"It is easy to prove to yourself that God is imaginary. The evidence is all around you. Here are 50 simple proofs"

Well is there or is there not an all-seeing, all-controlling entity running the whole show? Above link will help you convince yourself that there isn't - it's based on the Christian notion of God but look at some of what the more radical christian offshoot religions are peddling !!!

My dad comes from a Jewish family, my mum comes from a Church of England family but was expelled from school for verbalizing her atheist views... I remain on the fence on this one - got to hedge your bets eh - there's still an awful lot of stuff that we don't know folks and I wouldn't be surprised either way tbh..

Listen To Twitter

You need to be in a certain state of mind for this but if you're in that place you could sit and watch for hours..

It's Germany by the way in case you were wondering..

Where our Letters Come From

"With the help of the Egyptians, Sumerians, and Phonecians, Jason Novak illustrates what characters in the alphabet originally represented:"

Hidden Adult Jokes In Children's Cartoons

"Enjoy this naughty, nasty, and otherwise adult imagery that somehow made it into numerous cartoon shows long thought safe for children..."

There are some pics and some video clips. I can remember my older cousin trying to explain to me the joke names in Captain Pugwash when I was 6 or 7 - needless to say I still didn't understand most of what he was saying...

taken from Rugrats on Nickelodeon

"Wordle is a toy for generating "word clouds" from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends."

Welcome to the online Universe my friends..

"The soft white underbelly of the net, eviscerated for all to see: Rotten dot com collects images and information from many sources to present the viewer with a truly unpleasant experience."

Not really my cup of tea  - I'm more a 'happy thoughts' kind of man but I know there are those out there that like this sort of thing...

Copy & Paste Characters

Loads of characters ready to copy/paste into your work - do a 'view all' as there's a few categories.

A web and iPhone application for copying the 'hidden' characters that comes with the computer's typefaces, to be pasted into emails, tweets, text documents, forums and whatever else you might need to spice up with an extra ♔, ฿ or, ❒.

I have a love/hate relationship with this one ;-)

"Christopher Moloney, a writer from Canada, searches for the original filming locations of popular movie scenes and takes pictures of these places with a movie still neatly integrated into the image's frame."

Ghost (1990) - remember that one?

Pointer Pointer

If Movable Type had its own smiley set I would use it here..

But for now :-) :-)

Awesome idea, very well done.

Jitter Bugs

These magnified insects will give you the creeps he says - and he's right..

Silkworm moth caterpillar..

Artist's Drugs Tests..

Artist takes every drug known to man and draws self-portraits after each use. Excellent idea for an experiment :-)

if you look at the page it IS just about everything he has tried - including cough syrup and computer duster squirts!

this one was done just after a few tokes..

High resolution images of interesting stuff..

Cigarette paper - the blue crystals are additives that keep the lit cigarette burning by producing oxygen.

Ransom Note Generator

Does what it says on the tin..

My Dog: The Paradox

A funny (but rings true) cartoon. This is why we've always had cats...

Listen To a Movie

"For the cubicle workers of the world".

Just listen to it - no video but stand-up comedy is one of the categories so things like that probably would not make a difference. There's a few categories including movies and radio. Nice idea - not sure if it will catch on though..

"Almost like a magic trick, a Lord Howe Island stick insect's spindly body unfurls from a tiny egg as it hatches. Now a video by zookeeper Rohan Cleave from Melbourne Zoo in Australia has captured the process for the first time, showing how the endangered species emerges into the world."
